Shaws Creek Baptist Church is a growing Southern Baptist Church located in the mountains of North Carolina. God has blessed this church over the last couple of years with amazing numerical growth, and the church decided they needed a website that could grow with them. With no dedicated website designer on staff, the church reached out to Divine Digital Design to build a new user-friendly website that could be easily managed.

Before we started to work on this project, we sat down with Collin Terenzini, pastor of Shaws Creek Baptist Church. We had a great discussion where we talked about some of the shortcomings of their previous website and how it was not meeting their needs. Pastor Collin was not sure of exactly what he and the church would need in their website, and they relied heavily on our expertise at Divine Digital Design. After asking some more focused questions, we and Collin were able to determine the best pathway for us moving forward with this design.

After talking with Pastor Collin, we had determined this website needed to be user friendly, more "modern" in design, and appeal to first-time guests to support the church's growth. This church was experiencing something of a revitalizations as more young people and families were beginning to attend. We all knew how critical this website facelift would be in catching the attention of new families and in sharing the gospel with those who visited the website.

Immediately, we began working to fulfill the expectations set by Shaws Creek Baptist Church. Our first priority was ensuring the website would be user friendly. We did this by creating a content management system (CMS) that would allow the church staff to easily edit the content of the website. This CMS allowed the church staff to create new pages instantly by simply filling in a few blanks. It took less than one hour to train the staff on this system, and they have been taking control of their website ever since!

We also made the website navigation simple for the website visitor by including the most important information right on the homepage. We provided a dropdown menu from the homepage that would allow for further navigation if the visitor desired to do so, but everything was essentially in one place. The more modern design of the website also helped the visitor navigate easily as the information was easy to read and easy to find.

Finally, we placed a big emphasis on first-time guests to the church by creating action buttons that allowed them to plan their visit right from the homepage. Since launching the website, Shaws Creek Baptist Church has reported to us that many more visitors have started attending because they had found the church through its website!
